Made in Germany. KK Ultra bits are the result of research at the Veterinary University in Hanover, Germany. After analyzing the results it was found that a horse's palate is smaller and often flatter than originally thought, leaving very limited space for the bit. Herm Sprenger used this new information to develop the KK Ultra mouthpiece. Because the palate was narrower that originally assumed, the link in the middle was shortened and rotated by 45 degrees. This ensures that when the pressure is applied to the reins, the rounded link rests fully on the tongue without squeezing it. The tongue's sense of touch is utilized and clear instructions are passed through the reins.
Genuine patented Aurigan bits are manufactured only by Herm Sprenger. Aurigan is a nickel-free alloy comprised of 85% copper, 4% silicon and 11% zinc. The advantages of Aurigan bits have been determined through a long term study at the Germany's University of Hanover. Aurigan has high oxidation properties and provides a pleasant taste to encourage chewing activity and easy acceptance of the bit.
